The store UMA urban materials + accessories is the end result of a tragic accident in the summer of 2004. Our dog, Uma, a 2 year old Keeshond mix was killed during our morning walk when the two of us were run over as the result of the collision of two buses in downtown St. Louis.

During the recovery, I decided to open a store featuring all of my favorite designs. Amazingly, I was able to accomplish this in a matter of months. Everything just fell into place. By late-October of that year I was up and running. UMA became an acronym for urban materials + accessories, and the fulfillment of my dreams. After 5 years now, I still love what I am doing, and I hope you enjoy the products as much as I do.
